Discover the Rangely Automotive Museum

Rangely Automotive Museum

The Rangely Automotive Museum houses an extraordinary collection of classic cars and motorcycles that impress even the most dedicated enthusiasts. Owner, collector, and longtime Rangely resident, Bud Striegel, maintains about 35 vehicles on the showroom floor, regularly rotating pieces from his larger collection to keep the exhibit fresh and captivating.

Highlights include an exquisitely restored Pierce motorcycle (produced only from 1909–1912 and one of just about a dozen believed to survive), a 1907 Indian racer—lacking clutch or brakes, making it thrillingly dangerous for its era—and a chauffeur-driven McFarlan once owned by Warner Bros. Studios and featured in numerous films.

Other gems feature a 1930 Franklin favored by the world's elite for European tours and one of the earliest electric cars (circa 1927), which Striegel notes delivered around 50 miles per charge—"not much less than many today!"

Striegel's passion shines through every vehicle; he has a fascinating story for nearly each one. His love for cars began at age 12, when he bought them for as little as $2 using money earned from selling pop bottles to a local bar.

This hidden gem showcases automotive history with heart—plan your visit and experience the stories firsthand!
