Victims' Services & Sex Offender Registry

Victims' Rights Amendment

When a crime is committed against an individual, they become a victim and are protected by specific rules under the Victims' Rights Amendment

If a Police Officer offers to contact an advocate and the victim refuses, the Police Officer still has the responsibility under legislation to provide the victim with certain information.  This information should include how to contact Social Services, Mental Health as well as a hospital or clinic should they need medical attention. The Officer should also offer literature pertinent to the victim's situation.

Sex Offender Registry

CBI (Colorado Bureau of Investigation) updates their their website daily, pulling their information from sex offender files through CCIC.

Please note, should the offender be a juvenile offender they are not website eligible.  They are however maintained in the Town's "Public Right to Know Book," which is kept in Dispatch and is available to any member of the community.
