The Rangely Department of Public Works delivers essential services that enhance daily life and improve the quality of life for everyone who lives, works, and visits our community. From keeping roads safe and passable year-round to maintaining clean streets and public spaces, our dedicated team works behind the scenes to support a well-functioning, welcoming town.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Street Maintenance
• Patching and repairing potholes and damaged pavement
• Performing minor asphalt overlays
• Asphalt milling for surface preparation
• Maintaining alleys and road shoulders
• Roadside mowing and weed control/spraying
• Providing major support for larger street resurfacing projects

Winter Roadway Maintenance 

• Snow plowing of town roads and streets
• Applying de-icing and anti-icing chemicals to prevent hazardous conditions
• Loading and hauling snow/ice from downtown and other high-priority or confined areas
• Clearing designated sidewalks and public pathways

During off-hours, nights, and weekends, our crews respond promptly to requests from the Rangely Police Department whenever street conditions require immediate attention.
