As Supervisor of the Town of Rangely’s Gas Department and Building & Grounds, and as the Town’s Safety Coordinator, I oversee essential services that keep our community safe, comfortable, and well-maintained.

The Town of Rangely proudly owns and operates its own natural gas system—one of only a few municipal gas utilities in Colorado. This allows us to deliver reliable, locally managed service directly to our residents and businesses.

A lifelong Rangely native, I was born and raised here and have called this town home for nearly all my life. I joined the Gas Department 23 years ago and have served as its supervisor for nearly 12 years. I’ve also led Building & Grounds for about 4 years and served as Safety Coordinator for 10 years. What can I say? I love this small town and the people in it.

I truly enjoy serving our community and being part of an outstanding team—not just in the Gas Department, but across all Town departments. We’re fortunate to live in a place where people genuinely care about one another and appreciate the quality of life we share in a community of our size.

Our Gas Department team works collaboratively to operate and maintain the natural gas system with the highest standards of safety and efficiency. We’ve worked hard over the years to build one of the strongest small municipal gas systems anywhere, and we’re always seeking ways to improve our Town’s facilities and outdoor spaces. Our employees take great pride in their work and remain deeply committed to safety.

I’m honored to call Rangely home and proud to work for the Town that serves it.

Alfred the Gas Man, the Gas Department's highly favored employee.

Alfred lives at the Rangely Gas Department.  His job is to oversee the office while the Gas Department Staff are performing their duties or have gone home for the day. He is very efficient at his job.

Alfred has been on the job since 1984.
