Parking Regulations - 10.06

10.06.010 Overnight Parking Prohibited

No person shall park or cause to be parked any vehicle as defined in the Model Traffic Code, as adopted, during the hours of 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. on the designated commercial and/or high-traffic areas of the streets within the Town of Rangely. Such designated areas shall include the entirety of Main Street/Highway 64 and Eagle Crest Drive, as well as additional areas that may be designated in the future by ordinance. Such designated areas will be marked with signage as appropriate.

10.06.020 Extended Parking Prohibited

No person shall park or cause to be parked a recreational vehicle, oversize vehicle, trailer and commercial vehicle upon any part of any highway, street, roadway, alley or public way or upon any public place otherwise ordinarily used for vehicular parking for an extended period. Any extended period shall be defined as more than four (4) days or ninety-six (96) hours. The moving of a vehicle from one location to another location both of which are places prohibited from extended parking shall not be a defense to prohibited extended parking.

10.06.030 Permits for Limited Extended Parking

A non-resident visitor to the Town of Rangely may apply for a Limited Extended Parking permit from the Town Manager or a designee of the Town Manager. Such permit will allow recreational vehicles to be parked on the street or roadway in front of the host of such visitor for a period of up to seven (7) days. The host must give permission in writing prior to the permit being issued.

10.06.090 Penalty

Every person convicted of violation of any provision in this chapter shall be punished by a fine of one hundred ($100) dollars for a first offense, two hundred ($200) dollars for a second offense and an amount not to exceed three hundred ($300) dollars for a third or subsequent offense, or by imprisonment not exceeding ninety (90) days or by both such fine and imprisonment.
