Shawn Morgan, a lifelong resident of the area, was born in Meeker, Colorado, and moved to Rangely in 1986 when his father founded Rangely Trash Service. A proud Rangely High School graduate (Class of 1993), he went on to earn an associate degree from Colorado Northwestern Community College (CNCC)
.After building a successful career in the oilfield, Shawn returned to his family roots in 2013, partnering with his brother, Rob, to take over and lead Rangely Trash Service—the business that has been part of the community for decades.
Shawn is married to Misty Morgan, and they are the proud parents of two children: Matthew, who attends Rangely High School, and Macy, a student at the Colorado School of Mines.
An avid outdoorsman, Shawn spends his free time dirt biking, rock crawling, and hunting—activities that reflect his deep appreciation for the rugged beauty surrounding Rangely.
As a member of the Rangely Town Council, Shawn is dedicated to serving and strengthening the community he has always called home. When asked about his goals on the council, he shared: “I love this community and the people in it. I am very excited to serve the residents of Rangely.”
