The CSO Division (Community Service Officer Division) at the Rangely Police Department is designed to enhance community safety and support by handling a variety of non-emergency and support services. Key Responsibilities of the CSO Division include:
- Animal Control and Shelter Operations: Overseeing all existing animal control functions and shelter duties, now consolidated under the CSO Division for streamlined animal welfare and enforcement.
- Code Enforcement: Managing all current code enforcement responsibilities, transitioned into the CSO Division to promote compliance and maintain community standards.
- Non-Emergency Call Response: Addressing calls for service involving parking violations, minor traffic accidents, VIN inspections, and other non-criminal matters.
- Community Engagement: Actively participating in local events and serving as a dedicated liaison between the Police Department and town residents to foster positive relationships and trust.
- Traffic Control Support: Providing assistance with traffic management at community events, special gatherings, and accident scenes.
- Report Writing and Administrative Support: Preparing reports for minor incidents and offering administrative assistance to support departmental operations.
- Vacation House Checks: Conducting requested security checks on residents' homes during periods of absence to help prevent issues and provide peace of mind.
