Katelyn Carlson is the Animal Control Officer for the Town of Rangely, Colorado, a role she began in 2022.  She is housed at the Rangely Police Department.

A 2012 graduate of Rangely High School, Katelyn's passion for animals was evident early on as she volunteered at the Rangely Animal Shelter, where she helped care for animals and find them homes. She earned her degree from the Animal Behavior Institute in 2015, specializing in canine behavior, training, and nutrition, later honing her skills as a dog trainer and owner of a grooming business in Rangely.  After four years of running her business, she embraced the opportunity to make a broader impact on animal welfare.

Katelyn enjoys outdoor activities, particularly the Rangely OHV Trails and hiking with her dogs.  Her favorite part of Rangely is being part of a close-knit community and making a difference for animals.
