Rio Blanco County, which the Town of Rangely is part of, ranked 25th out of 64 counties in Colorado. They also took the 456th spot Nationwide among approximately 3,000 counties which were assessed.

The metrics for the assessment include items such as the economy, internet access, housing vacancies, population health, the environment and public safety.

Chevron donates $100,000-plus for emergency communications

Prompted in part by this year’s Pine Gulch Fire, Chevron is donating a total of more than $100,000 to entities including Mesa County to help with emergency management communication needs.

The company is donating $38,000 to Mesa County Emergency Services, $30,000 to the town of Rangely, $26,500 to the De Beque Fire Protection District and $15,000 to Garfield County Emergency Management.  

Rangely Police Department - Hearts and Minds

Rangely Police Chief Ti Hamblin has been working to obtain mental health help for Rangely Police Department employees through the “Heart and Mind Initiative." This includes anonymous psychological services to better help officers and dispatchers cope with the inherent trauma of the job and the addition of Police Chaplain Jasper Whiston.

The Town of Rangely is Now an Official Main Street Community

The Town of Rangely is very excited to announce that “The Department of Local Affairs" (DOLA) Colorado Main Street Program has designated the Town of Rangely as an official Main Street community. Colorado Main Street Program offers support for community-led downtown revitalization and helps communities thrive by providing a customizable framework to focus efforts, energy, and resources to create a more vibrant community.
